Atlantic City police are continuing to investigate a shooting Sunday night that wounded a Las Vegas man.

Police received a fight call at about 6 p.m. and, while the caller was on the phone, dispatchers heard a shot fired, Capt. Frank Brennan said.

Police arrived on the scene in the 100 block of North Vermont Avenue to find the male shot in the stomach. His name is not yet being released.

Three males were victims of a robbery by anywhere from four to six young black males, Brennan said. Two of the victims ran, while the third stayed to fight the attackers, and was shot.

An investigation is ongoing to see whether there was a relationship between the victim and his attackers.

At least one arrest is pending, Brennan said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 609-347-5766 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411) and beginning the text with ACPD.
